What to do Dallas Buyers ClubPresent It was once in Hollywood And Blackkklansman have together?
Yes, they are all films awarded with Oscar.
But they are also films on which our alumni worked.
In fact, we have a long -term history of students who were working on films that were nominated at the Academy Awards.
Working on such films is a dream that many star -clear students keep near the heart when they walk through our doors. Nothing says that they “managed” to work on a production that has been nominated.
While it feels like a distant dream when you start, it can quickly become a reality of how many of our graduates have discovered.
In fact, two of our alumni were personally Oscar-nominated Oscars for themselves (and one of them won!).
Let’s take a closer look at the Oscar nominated and Oscar winners to which our students worked. We will also tell you about our close relationships with the Academy of Arts and Sciences of Film Art and the way you can rub your shoulders with the best in business.
2014: graduate nominated for Oscar at the 86th Academy Awards
Who can Matthew McConaugheys forget to forget incredible performance Dallas Buyers Club?
Working on the film was an unforgettable experience for one of our 2002 film graduates.
As soon as Martin Pensa has seen the script for Dallas Buyers ClubHe knew that he wanted to be part of it:
“I would have done it for free,” says Pensa, “the script was just so good and he was [Jean-Marc Valée] It’s just so good. “
Pensa not only contributed to the film, but was nominated for an Oscar for his work as a publisher.
He was the first Los Angeles Film School Alumni to be nominated for an Oscar.

2020: The 92nd Academy Awards
2020 is a year that none of us will probably forget. But for another reason it was unforgettable for some of our graduates who had contributed to the Oscar-nominated films below.
One of our graduates, Ariana Georgescu, worked on the Oscar-nominated film Harriet As a composer. The street to get there was paved through mere grit and hard work.
While the composition was not something that she wanted to do initially, learning in our animation program triggered her passion for it.
The skills that Georgescu learned in the program brought her well and impressed the ones with whom she worked. Georgescu has developed from strength to strength and worked on blockbusters like worked Mad Max: Fury RoadPresent Captain America: The winter soldier And Godzilla.
We are incredibly proud of the work of alumni like Georgescu during their career, including the Oscar nominated and profit films below:

2021: Graduate wins Oscar at the 93rd Academy Awards
When Phillip Bladh went through our doors in 2008, he knew little that he would take place at the Oscars 13 years later.
Bladh worked as a production sound mixer Sound of metal. The film presented Bladh a unique opportunity to experiment with sound design, as the story focuses on a drummer who begins to lose his hearing.
The film deepens the audience into the hearing experience of the main character. “Sound of metal is an audio recording of the first person, ”says Bladh.
The technical and creative experimentation paid off and left Bladh in his hands with an Oscar.

Hollywood is closer than you think
Our passion is to support our students in persecution of their dreams. And if the success balance of our alumni to work on the Oscar-nominated productions is something to do, these dreams are certainly within reach.
Hollywood’s shine and glam and the Oscars seem to be far away at the moment, but in the La Film School it is closer than you think.
In fact, we have a close connection with the Academy of Arts and Sciences. Many of our students are selected for their eight -week internship program Academy Gold Rising, which offers unique access to the opportunities of the film industry, networking and academy.
The best in business also goes through our doors to speak to our students. Oscar-nominated filmmakers and writers such as Quentin Tarantino, Aaron Sorkin, Taika Waititi, Krysty Wilson-Cairns and Rian Johnson have had the next generation of filmmakers in the LA film school.
Could you be one of them?
