Arsenal are reportedly still interested in signing Juventus winger Kenan Yildiz.
Turkish football claim the Gunners are “actively pursuing a blockbuster move” for the 21-year-old.
Although an earlier approach from Juventus was rebuffed, the Premier League champions are understood to have renewed their efforts following Yildiz’s return from the World Cup.
Getting his club to sell remains the biggest obstacle and the Turkey international could well cost over €100m (£86m).
Arsenal are looking for alternatives for Rogers
After reports that Aston Villa could demand almost £130m for Morgan Rogers, it is no surprise that sporting director Andrea Berta is looking at other options.
When asked about his price, the England international replied that he disagreed with his club’s valuation:
“I’m not sure I’m worth it! It’s nice to hear that from people, but I don’t let outside noise affect me.”
Rogers reportedly wants to join the Gunners but is at risk of being ruled out of a move this summer.
Comparison of Yildiz and Rogers
The two players scored double figures in both goals and assists last season, but Rogers has a slight edge over the Turkish playmaker.
Yildiz scored 11 goals and contributed 10 assists, while Rogers found the net 14 times and provided 12 assists.
Of course, only one of them is Premier League tested, so it’s understandable why there was an offer for Rogers prioritized.
However, Villa’s excessive demands have likely changed Arsenal’s attitude somewhat, and their renewed efforts to sign Yildiz instead suggest that they have decided to seek an alternative that could end up being slightly cheaper.
However, Juventus will not let their star go without a fight. He only signed a new four and a half year contract at the beginning of the year.
