As East Africa ramps up preparations for the historic 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, Football Kenya Federation President Hussein Mohammed has boldly declared that Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania are committed to hosting the biggest AFCON tournament the continent has ever seen.
The three East African neighbors will jointly host the continental showpiece under the banner “PAMOJA 2027”. This is the first time in history that the competition will be held in three countries.
The tournament is scheduled to begin on June 19, 2027, with the final scheduled for July 17, as confirmed by FIFA Council decisions at a recent meeting in Vancouver, Canada.

Hussein Mohammed is confident East Africa will host the historic AFCON 2027
During a high-level meeting chaired by CAF President Patrice Motsepe in Nairobi, Hussein Mohammed expressed his unwavering confidence in East Africa’s readiness to host an unforgettable championship that will exceed expectations both on and off the field.
“I have no doubt that East Africa is ready and will deliver the best AFCON the continent and the world has ever seen,” Mohammed said.
His comments come at a time when comparisons are already being made with the highly acclaimed Morocco 2025 edition, a tournament widely praised for its world-class organization, modern infrastructure and record-breaking digital engagement around the world.
However, Mohammed insisted that the East African nations are not entering into a rivalry with Morocco but are rather trying to create their own unique football identity.
“We do not intend to compete with Morocco as the minister indicated. We are unique in East Africa and we will deliver a unique AFCON that has never been seen before,” he added.
The FKF boss further explained that preparations are not only focused on stadium construction and training facilities, but also on creating an unforgettable cultural and hospitality experience for the fans traveling from different parts of the continent and beyond.
“In this regard, it is not just about the hardware, i.e. the facilities and stadiums, but also the software. East Africa is known for its hospitality, we are known for being a hard-working population and we are known for delivering quality and that is what we have experienced with CHAN,” Mohammed noted.
CAF President Motsepe, who is in Kenya for the Africa Forward Summit, also praised the progress made by the co-host countries to ensure the tournament becomes a success story for African football. During his visit, Motsepe inspected key facilities including the Talanta Sports Stadium project and the Moi International Sports Center Kasarani, which are expected to play a crucial role during the tournament.
“Kenya is among the three nations that will host the AFCON, the biggest sporting event on African soil, next year,” Motsepe said while reiterating CAF’s confidence in the PAMOJA bid.

Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Sports, Salim Mvurya, expressed similar views after holding strategic consultations with officials from Uganda and Tanzania alongside the CAF leadership.
“It was a particular honor to host CAF President Patrice Motsepe along with other PAMOJA Sports Ministers and Presidents of Pamoja Associations as we advance strategic consultations on joint preparations for hosting AFCON 2027,” Mvurya said.
The Sports CS also revealed that discussions focused on harmonizing operational frameworks, government coordination structures and financial planning to ensure the tournament runs smoothly in all three nations.

The 2027 edition will also have historical significance as it coincides with the 70th anniversary of the Africa Cup of Nations. Additionally, it will be the last AFCON tournament to be played in odd-numbered years before CAF transitions the competition to a quadrennial calendar starting in 2028.
As infrastructure work gathers pace and regional cooperation grows stronger by the day, East Africa now has the responsibility to stage a football spectacle that can unite the continent while showcasing the region’s passion, culture and growing football ambitions on the global stage.

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
